Aims and Scope
The journal publishes articles devoted to the study of the contemporary history of Serbia and Yugoslavia, their internal development, and their position within the European and global community. Since obtaining the status of an international scholarly journal (M23), Tokovi istorije has also published high-quality historiographical studies that are not necessarily related to the territory of Serbia or the former Yugoslavia.
Contributions are interdisciplinary in nature and based on original archival research.
The journal’s editorial policy is to publish only original scholarly works that meet high academic standards, including research studies and articles, shorter contributions, historiographical surveys, critical editions of scholarly sources, polemics, critical essays, reviews, and informational notices.
Tokovi istorije does not publish submissions that are not grounded in a scholarly approach or that are journalistic in character; that are mythological in content; that promote racist, nationalist, or other discriminatory concepts; or that in any way contain hate speech. Personal testimonies and literary prose of a non-scholarly nature are also excluded. Submissions that fall outside the journal’s chronological and thematic scope will not be accepted.
All scholarly manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board undergo a rigorous process of professional and academic evaluation, beginning with an initial editorial screening and followed by double-blind external peer review.
The journal is published three times a year in Serbian and English.
Submission, peer review, and publication in Tokovi istorije are free of charge.
